The moon, Jupiter and Venus put on a celestial show last night as they lined up in a grouping known as a Triple Conjunction. Matt Hartman of Silver Lake took the above photo of the Triple Conjunction – Jupiter at the top, a faint crescent moon at the center and Venus at the bottom – at about 8 p.m. looking west to Sunset Junction. He also created a time-lapse video of images showing how the celestial trio moved across the sky in unison during a three-hour period. The Triple Conjunction will be visible again tonight weather permitting. (via Triple Conjunction over Silver Lake — The Eastsider LA)
